TaalLake

Taal Lake
Forty minutes south of Manila, Tagaytay City is a popular holiday town that sits on a ridge above Taal Volcano Island, an active volcano surrounded by Taal Lake. Because of the cool highland weather, many wealthy Manilenos come here during the hot summer months.
The Outreaches

The Outreaches
Although the town itself is wealthy, dirt trails lead down the slopes from the main street to shantytowns where the majority of the people live is shacks like this one. The Auxteros call them ‘The Outreaches’ and they draw many of TCA’s students from the shantytowns, like this girl in the TCA uniform.
Tagaytay City Line

Tagaytay
Tagaytay is a city of contrasts, with the summer homes of Manila’s wealthy sitting above and the corrugated tin and plywood homes of its many poor clinging to the steep ridges and canyons.
